Weekend @ the Ranch

We spent the weekend with Mimi and Papa at the ranch. The kids had a wonderful time. We went fishing, riding around on the ranger, mule and big mo, Easter egg hunting, played football, and much more.

Fishing: Tried out dozer lake. It has grown up more and the water levels were up. The water was crystal clear. (My buddy Miles will be jealous) not many bites but an extremely peaceful time. At the pond by the house, Reece caught 9 perch and Carolyn caught 6. We fished with worms or as Reece calls them...merms.

Of course it would not be our family ranch trip without some good naps and snacking. Plenty of sunshine with lots of wind.

We had a professional snake hunter stop by on Saturday...so of course papa and I went with him to check out the dens. We visited several dens and did not see any snakes. Until we hit the last one. This guy has been catching snakes for 23 years. So he has this down to an art. We caught 4 snakes coming out of their den. EXCITING!!!! but a bit scary. Last weekend he caught 580 pounds of snakes and got second place at the Sweetwater Roundup. Last year he did a career best 1250 pounds only to lose out to 1600 pounds. Remember....1 snake is roughly 1 pound. AWESOME!!!!!
