Another landmark day for the Whitlow family. Reece began his first day of speech/language school. He attends at Cox Elementary from 8:00 - 10:00am every Monday and Wednesday. As you can tell from the picture he appears to be so excited about going. This picture was taken after he said good bye to his trains.
Reece got a new outfit and new backpack(from Mimi and Papa) for his first day. He arrived a few minutes late, but his teacher was waiting for him. The transition seemed to go smoothly, at first he hid behind mom and then slowly eased away and then one last look and a waive and he was off.
The letter for the day was "W", Reece is running around the house making the "Wa" sound and holding up his three littliest fingers for the "W" sign. Painting was the actvity for the day and learning the say "W". His teacher said he did very well for his first day. Our prayer is that through this school Reece will experience the joy of talking and using his words correctly. Our relief is that this is the best start on the road to success for him. Our joy is watching him learn something new, he seems to make it a very big deal.
